Food Safe

VEGSF05

This program has been developed to provide an overview to all workers handling fresh produce. This training aligns with the requirements of HARPS.

Introduction:

The Freshcare Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) and Food Safety & Quality – Supply Chain (FSQ-SC) Standards outline specific requirements under Element F11 Suppliers, for produce represented for sale as Freshcare certified.

Freshcare certified businesses sourcing or packing other produce must ensure all produce they represent for sale as ‘Freshcare certified’ has been grown and packed by a business currently certified to Freshcare FSQ or FSQ-SC; or currently certified to an alternate, approved GFSI benchmarked standard.

Target Audience:

This training is for all workers across the Fresh Produce supply chain who handle produce.  A food safety program is a written plan that shows what a business does to ensure that the food it sells is safe for people to eat. It is an important tool to help businesses handle, process or sell potentially hazardous foods. This is necessary to maintain safe food handling practices and protect public health.

We all know what it’s like…

Your business is going great (or not… COVID-19); you’re doing the things you know. But you also know that there are some pinch points in your business; some areas that could be safer, some processes you need to introduce.
But you’re frozen: I don’t know what to do? I don’t know where to start? Will the business afford it? Am I putting myself or business at risk?
